Expected Weekly Hours: three (3) 12hr shifts

What you will do:

The Cardiac Surgery Unit is an eight bed critical care that serves the patients who have undergone cardiac/vascular surgery. The area serves the immediate post-operative patient and cardiac /vascular surgery patients requiring continuous critical care interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Nurses working in this areal provide monitoring and care of patients with potentially severe physiological instability requiring technical and /or artificial life support.

  • Patient care needs can cover a range from simple medications and treatments to the complex intensive monitoring of unstable patients.

  • Intensive monitoring may include ventilator support, continuous vasoactive medication infusions, and ventricular assist devices.

  • Nurses in this area, have the support of regional critical care courses, on site ACLS classes and comprehensive orientation developed by clinical nurse specialists in cardiac critical care nursing.

What you will need:

  • A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York

  • ASN required, BSN preferred

  • ACLS certification preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is required. CVICU/Critical Care experience preferred

  • Registered Nurses must possess the ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient care

  • The RN must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written

Pay Range: $36.50 - $49.95

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
