OCED Program Operations Analyst

Job type:

Contract – approximately 20-30 hours a week as a 1099 consultant, fully remote position.

Overview:

This position will support the Department of Energy, Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). OCED is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $20B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and interest in large-scale clean energy demonstration projects, particularly in renewable systems, carbon capture and removal, hydrogen, and nuclear energy technologies.

This position will be responsible for providing communications and design support. Additional responsibilities may arise, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Sustainability, Economics, Finance, or related field.

  • Knowledge of power utilities, the energy industry, and emerging clean energy technologies is preferred.

  • Strong familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Smartsheets and other project management programs as well as demonstrated ability to leverage tools to improve project efficiency.

  • Extreme attention to detail and proficiency in copywriting, including excellent editing skills and the ability to ensure alignment with messaging frameworks.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and prioritize workload, incorporating feedback quickly as needed.

  • A resourceful, creative problem-solver and committed team player, adept at integrating feedback and iterating on design and communications collateral. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative and logistic support to the Federal Technical Project Officer or CCOR.

  • Facilitate project and programmatic success.

  • Creates and maintains meeting minutes for negotiations, IPT, and other project and program level meetings.

  • Supports in preparation of slide decks, presentations, and document editing.

  • Assists with project and program-level records management and data transformation.

  • Works with Federal Project Manager to update Smartsheets, project schedules, tracking, and reporting.
