Actalent Construction Superintendent in Albany, New York

Job Title: Construction SuperintendentJob Description

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for effectively monitoring, directing, and coordinating the field operations on assigned projects to achieve timely and profitable completion. This role involves direct supervision of the field labor force, including laborers and craft workers. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills, as well as excellent communication and client service abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings with clients and contractors

  • Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force

  • Review and become familiar with the project budget and general conditions estimate

  • Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with the Project Manager

  • Develop and maintain site logistics plans in coordination with Project Manager, Clients, and Contractors

  • Conduct quality and safety inspections

  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts

  • Communicate and enforce the Safety and Health Management Program

  • Manage schedules, including preparation of look-ahead schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates

  • Prepare and submit Superintendent’s Daily Reports

  • Participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings, and conduct foreman’s meetings

  • Review and assist in developing scopes of work for each subcontractor

Essential Skills

  • Strength in Mechanical and Electrical systems (480V power, closed loop chillers, rooftop units)

  • Proficiency in Procore software

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and client service skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical gas knowledge and certification

  • Experience within construction of Hospitals, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Outpatient, Dentist, and Doctors Offices

  • Experience working on projects involving the building and installation of radiology equipment (MRI, Scanners, CT scans)

  • OSHA 30 certification

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Work Environment

The candidate will be working on an existing construction site, specifically hospital construction projects in the finishing stages. The typical start time is around 7 AM, with an end time around 3:30 PM, depending on the project, totaling 40-hour work weeks. The headquarters/main office is located in Union, NJ, and the environment is very family-oriented and laid back with business casual attire. The company operates out of their own building and offers a supportive and collaborative work atmosphere. Current projects include a new suite in Toms River (St. Barnabas – Community Hospital) and a project in Rahway.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $60.09/hr.
