University at Albany Assistant Director of Recruitment Operations - The Graduate School in Albany, New York

The Graduate School at the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks a personable, culturally aware, student-focused professional with experience in recruitment and Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM). The Assistant Director of Recruitment Operations will contribute to the recruitment and marketing efforts for the Graduate School by focusing on utilizing our CRM, overseeing student groups who help with recruitment and actively recruiting in an assigned territory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • CRM Management for Recruitment and Marketing

  • Utilize Slate to set up mailings for recruitment events, set up our communication stream for all applicants and graduate programs.

  • Pull data from Slate to help inform our recruitment strategies.

  • Use Slate for texting campaigns - setting them up and monitoring them for effectiveness, responses, etc. and liaising with those needed when we get responses.

  • Implement strategies in Slate that can help with recruitment and marketing of graduate students.

  • Set up recruitment forms, events and portals for registrations.

  • Consistently look for ways that we can use Slate to enhance our recruitment and marketing and make our processes more efficient and effective.

  • Travel in local territory and data analysis from travel

  • Travel to graduate recruitment events (graduate fairs, presentations, etc.) in New York State and surrounding states.

  • Prepare travel to the events, follow up with students from the events.

  • Hire, train, and oversee student groups as it relates to recruitment

  • Launch and over see the Graduate Scholar Ambassador program

  • A program where we would have current graduate students travel to their alma maters (domestically and internationally) to present their scholarly research and recruit prospective graduate students.

  • Oversee the application and interview process

  • Oversee the payment process for these students

  • Collect leads and input them into Slate and do follow up to the students

  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

  • Reports to the Director of Graduate Recruitment and Marketing

  • Supervises the following positions: None

  • May supervise employees as assigned (if no direct reports at time of filling position)

Job Requirements:

  • Slate CRM

  • Microsoft Office Suite

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience

  • Proficient with a CRM (e.g. Slate, Salesforce, Ellucian, etc.)

  • Recruitment or sales experience

  • Represent the University professionally and ethically at recruiting events, conferences and meetings

  • Arrange university visits, college fairs, recruitment activities/events, and present to students virtually and in-person

  • Collect and evaluate data to inform recruitment efforts from recruitment events and from CRM.

  • Effectively use a CRM and innovate new ways with the CRM to enhance recruitment and marketing efforts and analyze data to provide suggestions and new ideas for recruitment and marketing.

  • Provide CRM support and assistance to Schools, Colleges and Departments

  • Oversee Graduate Ambassadors and Graduate Scholar Ambassadors as it relates to recruitment.

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community

  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of working with student groups or supervising.

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, International Education, communications, international relations or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • Familiarity working with Slate Technolutions

Professional Rank and Salary Grade: Admissions Advisor, SL-3, $57,000 - $60,000
