Teradyne New Product Buyer (Temp) in Alajuela, Costa Rica

Duties & Responsibilities

New Product Buyer is responsible for ensuring the material pipeline for production and new products being forecasted and developed by Operations and Engineering through analysis of Bills of Material and MRP.

Responsibilities include executing against weekly MRP and working closely with Operations and Engineering Teams to requisition material, execute expense and inventory purchase orders, resolve critical material shortages, track product cost, as well as develop and monitor risk management plans. Ability to succeed in a highly volatile environment that requires attention to detail while maintaining a broader scope vision to implement change.

Senior Buyer must be able to work on cross-functional teams and to communicate with all levels of management. Candidates must be able to work independently. The candidate must also have creative problem-solving skills.

Senior Buyer must also have strong analytical skills. Must also be able to manage and KPI’s (MRP messages) for assigned commodities.

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required

Individual must have BA/BS or equivalent or experience in a material related field. CPM qualification is a plus.

Applicant must have demonstrated strong MRP/buying experience.

Applicant must be computer literate with a working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.

Experience with Oracle is preferred. Skills with presentation software and database tools are helpful.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a necessity.

This position deals with a global supply base, and strong English skills are required.

Individual must be a team player that has in-depth knowledge of a New Products, has a high level of flexibility, and will work toward common goals inter-departmentally and cross-functionally. An individual who has demonstrated proactive problem solving and leadership skills as well as a proven ability to envision and implement change (problem identification and solution recommendation, and implementation).
