Cleveland Clinic Radiology Technologist - Spine and Pain in Akron, Ohio

As Radiology Technologist, you will complete diagnostic radiographic procedures using the latest and state-of-the-art equipment. Using your knowledge of clinical procedures, technologies and policies, you will collaborate with fellow Rad Techs, Radiologists, RNs, Surgeons and Physicians to achieve goals and enhance patient care. You also have the opportunity to explore different modalities, develop new skills and advance to other positions.

A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30AM - 3:30PM or 7:30AM - 4:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Adjust and control complex electronic equipment in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.

  • Prepare and position patients prior to procedures to ensure their safety and to obtain desired reports for diagnostic purposes.

  • Calculate and select appropriate equipment and technical factors such as proper type of film and number of kilovolts or milliamperes.

  • Maintain working condition of all equipment and report any malfunctions or needs for adjustments to appropriate personnel.

  • Assist in maintaining sanitary condition of radiology area.

  • Instruct caregivers regarding techniques and procedures related to radiology.

  • Research lab values and inject contrast under the supervision of a Radiologist. Comply with all Radiology information system entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.

  • Evaluate requisitions and prescriptions, including identifying the patient and procedure performed.

  • Assist and support the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T(R) (ARRT)] in good standing

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Travel to other sites as needed
