Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Akron, Ohio

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various HR functions such as employee entry, payroll, and benefits administration for our multiple locations. You will also be involved in recruiting, conducting new hire orientations, and maintaining personnel files.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize HR software to manage employee entry, payroll, and benefits for various locations.

• Establish, organize, and maintain comprehensive employee files.

• Prepare reports relating to attendance, performance evaluations, etc.

• Administer benefits information including medical, dental, vision, and 401k benefits, as well as leaves of absences, worker’s compensation, and unemployment.

• Coordinate New Employee Orientation for both hourly and salaried employees, including handling background checks and fulfilling pre-employment requirements.

• Oversee staffing and recruitment processes, acting as a liaison with employment agencies.

• Prepare internal documents such as offer letters, interview confirmations, etc.

• Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance to employees or management as needed.

• Coordinate and organize various training and seminars based on department needs.

• Carry out other functions as assigned. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration

• Experience in Compliance and Employee Relations

• Proficient in using Paycom and handling Benefits Administration

• Able to carry out New Hire Orientations and Personnel File Maintenance

• Proven experience in Recruiting and writing Offer Letters

• Familiarity with FMLA and Leave Administration

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

• Professional certification in Human Resources (like PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
