Job Title: Press Brake Set Up Operator

Job Description

The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for forming material required per order to meet scheduled requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate hydraulic press brake for established work.

  • Understand dimensions, tolerances, and angles of formed parts.

  • Calculate bend locations, appropriate tonnage, and tooling for each part being formed.

  • Verify all parts are present and correctly formed to specifications, and notify management if the project is missing parts or if a part is incorrect.

  • Organize work area before and after parts are processed, stacking completed parts properly on tables or pallets to eliminate double handling and work efficiently.

  • Keep production board updated with status of orders in the Press Brake department.

  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine within capabilities. Report all machine malfunctions to management.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of Press Brake experience.

  • Ability to understand basic measurements.

  • Familiarity with blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in fabrication, blueprint reading.

  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience with punch press, brake press machines, machine set up, troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency with calipers, inspection, and production processes.

  • Good written communication skills.

Work Environment

This is a typical job shop environment, which can get hot, dirty, and not the best lit. You will be working around galvanized steel, so you must be comfortable working in an industrial setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
