About Nithview Community:

Nithview Community is a seniors' community designed to provide several types of accommodation and services. Residents are able to choose the type of accommodation that is most appropriate for their care needs and continue to live within the community of care as their needs change. Emphasis is placed on assisting residents to live life to the fullest in this dynamic residential setting.

About the Position:

Under the direction of the Housekeeping & Laundry Coordinator, performs a variety of routine tasks associated with laundering of residents' personal clothing and linen, and housekeeping.

Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to follow oral and written instruction and be able to communicate and provide feedback on a day-to-day basis

  • Familiar with standard mending techniques, knowledge/experience in laundry procedures is an asset

  • Knowledge of proper linen and stain removal is an asset

  • Experience working with seniors preferred. Genuine interest in and concern for residents.

  • Good physical and mental health

  • Demonstrated maturity and tactfulness

  • Ability to be flexible and work both independently & as a team

Summer Opportunities generally start in May and end at the beginning of September. These jobs may be funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) or Canada Summer Jobs. In order to be considered for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

  • Be between 15-30 years of age at beginning of employment period

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations

*If you do not meet the above criteria you can still apply as we may have opportunities available over and above the SWPP.

New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check (or sign a declaration if under 18 years of age) and TB test as part of the onboarding process.
